Here finchy fincy...

Because I'm still recuperating from surgery, I've been left with a lot of time to birdwatch. This morning I looked out the front window and was pleasantly surprised to find three goldfinch! I think they're really pretty :) Pretty good for me to eat that is!!

The NJ state bird, the goldfinch, is known as a "wild canary" because it's bright yellow and has a pretty song. I think you already know how I feel about canaries...Tangerine is a great singer but he's awful mean! Like a diva or something!! I hope that the goldfinches that live in our yard aren't fresh like he is.

They eat Mommy's zinneas. I think by this point, Mommy has given up the fight on trying to keep her flowers nice because between the birds and the woodchuck, the flowers have taken a beating. They sing while they eat the flowers too.
