On Location: The Backyard

Here I am doing my bestest impression of my brudder, Jinky. We are so much alike that we even have the same color leash!!
On my journey through the backyard today, I noticed all sorts of things to document. Some don't have photos but I'm sure you will get the picture in your mind!
Let's start with the beautiful flowers that are growing on the deck...

These are my most favorite. They're called portulaca and I've already documented them but I thought they were worth taking a look at again. I like these flowers a'cause they are always changing their colors! Each time I go in the backyard, I look up at the box and notice that the colors of the flowers change!
Next I turned to walk down the ramp and head towards the yard when I was surprised to find this ant...

I like to call it the "deck ant" a'cause that's where I founded it! I sniffed it but it was running so fast that I couldn't keep up! It slipped down into the cracks and I was left to dream of what that deck ant would have tasted like...

While I was walking down the ramp, I spotted these flowers and asked my photographer to get them on film. I'm not sure what kind of flower it is but Mom...uh...my photographer says that they've been there since she was a little girl.
Here's where your imagination comes in handy... I was strolling around in the grass when my photographer saw a moth! I played with it for a long time. There must've been somethin' wrong with it a'cause it wouldn't fly very good. So...I pounced it. Twice. Then I tasted it...reminded me of that powdery stuff Mommy puts on her feet. Blech! They sure are better to play with than to eat!

Finally, I saw in the sky, a metal birdie! It was very low and very loud! My photographer was lucky enough to get it on film for me. As you may already know, my Auntie Deb am gonna come visit me by coming in the belly of a metal birdie. Oh I can't wait!! Now, this metal birdie was very low like I said...not only was this one up there, but there were a whole bunch of them flying in the same direction! My Mom..uhh...photographer said something 'bout changing flight patterns. I thought they did that during the winter?? These metal birdies are confusing!

Beautiful portulaca!
Oh thank you Jessica :) I like to look at them a lot. If I could, I'd eat em too!
eeeeee, you got an ant on film!
Mom and dad keep saying they want to take a metal bird to Maine to visit mom's bean mom, but they don't know who can take care of me and they don't want to leave me at the vet.. I don't want to be left at the vet either.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! I'm gonna do a happy dance!
Larry, shmaybe you can go to Maine too? Percy (Mommy's friend's cat) flies back and forth in the metal birdie from Florida to Mew Jersey a lot! He even got his wings!
your photographer did an excellent job and you can tell you enjoy your check of the yard. Keep us posted on what you find... Merlin, Shadow, Ko Ko
