Pesky Little Booger

I have been watching the front window more frequently now that Mommy put the bird feeder in. I was originally going to blog about the lady cardinal that feeds there but something keeps pressing at me...it's bigger and doesn't have any feathers: Mr. Squirrel. He climbs the feeder and eats all the birdie food! Meanwhile, the sparrows and cardinals sit in the bush next to the feeder waiting their turn patiently.

Squirrels can be very pesky when they want to be. Even though I am disgusted with the behavior of Mr. G. Squirrel, I still have a soft spot for him. I like his fluffy tail. I imagine that it must taste real good.

Squirrels are responsible for all the tire screaching sounds we are beginning to hear. They run around digging little holes in the ground and planting nuts. For some reason, they think that they will remember where they've hidden them through the winter. Duh! Those little peabrains?! I don't think so. They don't even know enough to look both ways before crossing the street...how are they going to remember where they've hidden nuts three months before?!?! Most of the time, the nuts take root and begin to grow little trees in Mommy's garden. She doesn't appreciate it too much.

Mommy's friend who is a science teacher says that when you see the squirrels running around like crazy (more than they usually do), that means that it's going to be a rough winter. I'll have to keep an eye on those squirrels to see if they're acting crazy or not...if we have a rough winter, I won't mind because I have a house now :) I won't be stuck out in the cold like I was last year. I'm glad I was adopted!
