On Location: Garden Nursery
This morning, I heard a real funny sound and it scared me a little. It was a funny "hee-haw, hee-haw" sound. It went on and on! We have heard it for the last few days, only in the morning. It's very strange. Well, Mommy has since told me that it was the donkey that is living at the garden nursery nearby! Every year at Christmastime, the Garden Nursery near our home has a display of animals like the ones that witnessed baby Jesus being born. I thought it best for me and my photographer to go on location and learn more about these animals. These aren't fake animals, no...these are real animals that you can pet or in my case, sniff.
The first animal I met today was the donkey. That donkey really likes to have his nose scratched so I told my photographer to go scritchy scratch his nose. Donkey was really happy that she did that. He followed her around while she took pictures of the others. Every chance he got, he'd stick his nose out for her to scratch. Quite a cute fella! Oh, and I asked him about the hee-haw we hear in the morning and he said, it's his way of waking up the neighborhood. A'cause there are no roosters nearby to wake everyone up, he feels obligated to take over the rooser's job. In my humble opinion, he's doing a wonderful job at waking everyone up. I just wish he didn't sound so...horse! LOL!!! Oh, I crack myself up!
Next to the donkey was a little horse. My phototgrapher called it a pony. Beans have such silly names for babies. To me, it's just a little horse but she called it a pony, so...that's what it shall be called. A pony. But just one question...at what point do you stop calling it a pony and start calling it a horse? For that matter, when do you stop calling little poodie tats kittens and start calling them cats? Ugh! Beans are nuts I tell ya, NUTS!

Behind the "pony" in the next stall is a very interesting animal called a Llama. Mom...uhh...my photographer said not to get too close to this animal a'cause it spits. Yuk! I mean, YUK! Though I was quite impressed with the llama's ability to do a great turtle, what I was attracted to was it's teeth! This llama has such big teeth! If it had the chance to chew on somethin', it would create a masterpiece! My teethywork is nothin' compared to what this llama could do!
Across from the llovely llama, there were some sheep, lambs and goats. They looked real nice and warm. I wanted to climb out of the car and lay on top of them! My perch that I sit in at home is made from lamb's wool and I think that white lambie has the same stuff on it! I thanked the lambie for sharing some of it's fur with me and said that it kept me all snuggly warm when I nap there. The lamb didn't say anything in return but that's ok. I watched Babe with Mommy on the talking box and saw that those sheep didn't say much then either.
How now brown cow! Have a lookie at this sweet little cow! Oh, beans have another funny name for them...calf. I don't like calf. It sounds funny. I'm still calling her little cow. She knows how to do a great turtle don't ya think? She lives with Donkey. I think they are boyfriend and girlfriend like me and Sweet Izzy. Little cow didn't want to talk too much a'cause she was tryin' to sleep. I don't like to be disturbed while I sleep either so I just left her alone :)
