Chick-A-Dee-Dee-Dee-lish!
New to the feeder this fall is the black-capped chickadee! This is Mr. Nuthatch's cohort in crime. They hang out in their own gang kinda like my gang! The black-capped chickadee is a resident of Mew Jersey and has decided to dine in our yard. Other than feeding on our grub, the chickadee likes berries, peanuts and sunflower seeds just to name a few things. They hold the sunflower seeds in their toes and crack em open! Speaking of dining, this little bird is just large enough for an appetizer. He's about the same size as Tangie. Yum!
The black-capped chickadee got it's name because of the song it sings and what he wears on his head. On top of his head is a bunch of black feathers that look like a cap or a hat :) The other part of his name came from it's song because it sounds just like he's saying "chick-a-dee-dee-dee"! Oh and that's not all he sings! He makes another one that sounds like "cheeeeeese bur-ger" Don't believe me? Listen for yourself! Click HERE to hear!
"Chick-A-Dee-Dee-Dee"
I was listening to the chickadee's song on the 'puter and got all confused. I thought that the poor little birdie was stuck in the 'puter speakers! Tangie was just as bothered by it. His head got all fluffy and he started peep-peep-peeping. Mommy just laughed at us. Hmph...
Well, it's back to my perch to see what other aminals I can see with my golden eyes mrrrow!
