Mr. Cardinal

This is my first post using my new blog home! I wanted it to be a special one and it is! Along with the Goldfinch and Blue Jays, I have seen many beautiful birdies from my window. This one in particular catches my eye a lot. I believe this is because of it's striking red plumage.

The Cardinal

Usually I see Mrs. Cardinal but she's not as purretty as Mr. Cardinal. For some reason, I've noticed that the girl birdies aren't as purretty as the boy birdies... I wonder why that is? It's not the case with us kitty cats. Take Izzy for example. Could there be a finer lookin' poodie tat in all the world? (sigh) Where was I? Oh right! The Cardinal...

Mr. Cardinal has the record for popularity as a state bird: in the United States (a.k.a. CatUSA), it holds that title in seven states! That's amazing! Guess if he was in Hollywood, he'd be rich and famous! As it turns out, Cardinals are listed as a species of special concern in Catifornia and may disappear there because of habitat loss. How sad! I certainly hope that this will change...as I'm sure, everyone is!

Well, time to take a catnap!

Us Catifornians, here in Kitty City, have never had the fortune of seeing a cardinal for real. They look purrty.

Uhhh, Timmy, you got a crush on Izzy?
