The Chipper Chipmunk

Sometimes, if I'm real quiet, I can hear the chipmunks calling to each other. Because we have cracked corn in the front yard, the chipmunks have been dining there. They sit on top of the steps to the front door and nibble away.

Chipmunk

I think they're very cute and would taste real good if I caught one! Speaking of what tastes real good, a chipmunk's diet is seeds and nuts and occasional insects, earthworms, berries, cherry and plum pits, mushrooms and sometimes eggs! Just like Tangie! He likes eggies too!

Wanna see somethin' interesting? I found this from a website I visited:
"Chipmunks must practice constant vigilance to avoid their many predators,
including hawks, weasels, coyotes, foxes, snakes and, in inhabited areas, cats
are a real danger
."
Mwah ah ahhh!!! Cats are a real danger. Not me! I live indoors but Whisper the cat who lives next door has told me that she catches them sometimes. I don't like her because she comes over uninvited and takes things from my yard...like chipmunks!
